intro
The Revolution is Coming, The Revolution is Coming, The Revolution is Coming?
Yes, change is in the wind, both the evolutionary kind that Nadia Anis explains is slowly affecting the architectural profession and perhaps even the revolutionary variety. For now I can only say that some very smart people are working on improving the accuracy of mobile LiDAR surveys, and they may be getting close to a step function improvement.
That's what I see is a large part of my role as Managing Editor of LiDAR News, to be like Paul Revere, or what Malcolm Gladwell in the Tipping Point describes as a connector?someone who knows a lot of people and can help get the word out through a well connected network. I am just waiting for the go ahead.
The articles are beginning to come in for the next edition of LiDAR Magazine. The target market for this issue is InterGEO?the world's largest geospatial technologies venue. You can choose to receive either a digital or hard copy of the Magazine on the website and encourage your colleagues to sign up for this newsletter HERE. We thank you for ongoing support in building this professional community.
Best regards,
Gene Roe, LS, PE, PhD

A Paradigm Change
Every type of professional practice is governed by certain protocol that is accepted as common practice and which sets the standard of care practitioners are expected to meet. Architecture practice is no different. The profession has been governed by a long standing standard of care that puts the architect in charge of documentation when working with existing conditions. This part of the practice has traditionally been a source of revenue for ...
