As you read this I will be reporting from Trimble
Dimensions 2012 in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. (Just for the record I voted via absentee
ballot.) It will be my first time at this event and I am really looking forward to attending.

making it should be interesting to hear about their vision of the future for our industry.|
Our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by super storm Sandy. Let's hope that
this was a once in a lifetime event as some described. It is certain to create construction
activity, but there are better ways for that...
The following week I will be attending Bentley Systems Be Inspired Conference
Netherlands. Bentley selects their best customer projects for showcasing at this event. Stay
tuned for a recap of both events.

LiDAR News is updated 24/7 with the latest news and announcements affecting the business..
Last month, I posted an article for LiDAR News that focused on Quality Control of different
types of LiDAR data. I wanted to delve a bit deeper into the airborne LiDAR quality control
discussion. This article will pick up where we left off and provide some more detail into what
needs to be checked and how this can be accomplished. Most LiDAR specifications detail the data
collection, processing and delivery formats, which makes it easy to ...

Why is MicroStation the De
Facto State DOT CAD standard?: Randy Tardy ? Frequently I have been asked
why MicroStation is the default CAD standard within the U.S. departments of transportation - DOTs
in spite of AutoCAD?s popularity. Where did the initiative start? When did the market penetration
reach dominance? Who enabled this success? What are the lessons ...
