intro
Welcome to the holiday edition. All of us at LiDAR News want to thank you for all the input and support that you provided in 2012. It has been a year of significant growth for the LiDAR News platform. We want to take this opportunity to wish you a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
I don't know which is more interesting - the use of LiDAR to potentially re-write the U.S. history books, or the results that MAPPS has been delivering for the 3D geospatial industry, or 12-21-12. The good news is we have them all covered, and more, in this diverse issue.
Remember you can choose to receive either a digital or hard copy of the LiDAR News Magazine on the website and encourage your colleagues to sign up for this eNewsletter HERE. We thank you for your ongoing support in building this professional community.
Best regards,
Gene Roe, LS, PE, PhD

12-21-12 - Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste: Mike Frecks/Cyn Rene' Whitfield ? The problem with predicting an impending crisis is that you just can?t anticipate all the variables. I think we all, if we have thought about it, questioned the outcome of any activity surrounding 12-21-12? the Mayan Calendar and Nostradamus predictions? sensationalizing an event that ...

The Use of 3D Data in Architectural Forensic and Conflict Resolution: Nadia Anis ? As architects involved with forensic work for many years, we have used the same diagnostic tools. These tools have, on many occasions, proven inadequate for the complex issues or even the geometry of today?s architecture. Often times the forensic work is conducted as part of ...
