intro
As you are reading this the Esri User Conference will be in full swing in San Diego, CA. The Survey Summit and 3D Mapping and LiDAR Forum took place over the weekend. In all, I made three presentations involving the ASCE Geomatics Division and the concept of a unified transportation data model.
One of the issues we discussed is the idea of licensing for geomatics professionals. Obviously a charged subject, but one proposal that I am planning to make is the idea of a creating a new category for licensed professional engineers who specialize in geomatics. This would be similar to adding a structural specialty to your PE license. It is not a total solution, but I do believe it would be a step in the right direction.
Best regards,

During the training a detective was being coached through capturing a mock accident scene. In the middle of the event he asked a legitimate question to one of our team members. ?So ...
