intro
Well, I told myself I was not going to get involved in the exploding UAS industry, but I just signed up to attend UAVSI's Unmanned Systems 2014 in Orlando, FL. It's too important a topic to not at least try to stay up to speed.
As part of the trip I will be visiting Riegl USA. They are celebrating 20 years in business which certainly speaks to the vision of Ted Knaak, Dr. Riegl and Jim Van Rens, among others who I would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate for all they have accomplished and for setting the bar so high.
I also want to call your attention to the Spotlight article in this issue where Karen Shuckman and Mike Renslow provide an important update on the ASPRS LiDAR certification process that is being proposed. Scroll down for articles, videos, news and more.
Best regards,
Gene Roe, LS, PE, PhD

Professional certification programs in the mapping sciences (photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS, and geospatial intelligence) have been around for a number of years and are offered by several organizations, but lidar specifically has not yet been ...

Snoopy Takes To The Air: Jeff Fagerman ? Albert Einstein once said, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new." Nobody likes to make mistakes but we all have and will continue to do so. It seems that generally when we try something new, we are prone to make mistakes, no matter how much planning and care we exercise. Since mid 2010, LiDAR USA has ...
